Simultaneous Engineering
Compressed time-to-market production requirements often require concurrent product and equipment engineering tasks. Our staff engineers are recognized as experts in our field and as a result we are frequently invited to participate as an integral team member with our customers’ product and manufacturing engineers during the earliest pre-production program phases. We dedicate approximately 5% to 7% of our annual engineering time to Simultaneous Engineering activities.
Design for Manufacturability
Due to our comprehensive knowledge of part feeding, component handling, product assembly and need for error proofing and product traceability, Calvary Automation can aid in the development of product and product component design with the necessary considerations for component features that compliment assembly and manufacturability. Providing early phase assembly and test expertise can often reduce the part-piece price, the cost and complexity of the assembly and test equipment, the number of assembly rejects, and the delivery time. This expertise can also increase Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE), System Yields and product traceability.
Cosmos Analysis Package
Research and Development programs often require theoretical analysis of design elements. In such cases Calvary Automation employs Cosmos software to perform FEA (Finite Element Analysis) for Stress, Strain, Displacement, Thermal, Vibration, and Frequency analysis of Products and 3-D SolidWorks Designs.
Design and Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA)
Competition in today’s marketplace requires elimination of all possible product and manufacturing failures. To achieve these results during the course of assembly system concept development; Calvary Automation conducts a systematic study known as Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA). This study can be applied to any product in the automotive manufacturing industry and results in the identification and classification of product, process or production failures.
In-House Vision Lab
Based on the annual volume of developmental studies achieved by Calvary Automation, we have invested heavily in an In-House Vision Lab. Our investment includes seasoned Vision Programmers, an extensive inventory of cameras, lens, and lighting and vase experience and knowledge of pre-developed vision tools that are often provided by the Vision System Manufacturers. We most often employ Cognex, DVT, Epson, Fanuc, Keyence, Omron and Banner vision tools.
Proto-type Assembly & Test Stands
Proof of Process and Proto-type assembly fixtures can be readily provided by Calvary Automation. In-house resources that include design, programming, testing, machining, and an extensive inventory of most commonly used automation products provide quick turn around and inexpensive proof of process solutions that aid in research and development process decisions. Proto-types can be achieved prior to order placement or within the preliminary phases of a project.
